Vegas Single Deck Blackjack: strategy and rules

Vegas Single Deck Blackjack uses one deck of 52 cards and the rules are just about the same as for all the other Blackjack variations, apart from a few little changes that give the game its flow. Here's an outline of them to help you bring in the winnings:

  • Vegas Single Deck Blackjack has almost the same card moves as with other versions of Blackjack. You can stand, hit, double down and take out insurance if it looks like the dealer has the advantage. The only thing you can't do in Vegas Single Deck Blackjack is surrender.

  • Vegas Single Deck Blackjack is an American hole game which means that if the dealer has a 10 or an Ace in his opening hand, he checks to see if he has a Blackjack. If he does, the game is over. The dealer is also forced to hit on a soft 17, meaning that he has a higher chance of going bust.

  • You can increase your opportunities of winning by splitting your hand if you have two cards of the same value or denomination. You can only split them once and if you split an ace, it can only receive one card after splitting. If you get an ace and a 10-value card after splitting, this is not a Blackjack, just a regular 21.
