Vegas Downtown Blackjack: strategy and rules
Vegas Downtown Blackjack has two decks of 52 cards in the game and most of the rules are much the same as for all the other Blackjack variations, apart from the few changes that make the game unique. Here are a few tips to help you get your strategy on the winning track:
-
With Vegas Downtown Blackjack you have almost all the same card moves as with other versions of Blackjack. You can stand, hit, double down and take out insurance if it looks like the dealer has the advantage. However, there is no surrender.
-
Remember that this is an American Hole game, where if the dealer has a 10 or an Ace in his opening hand, he checks to see if he has a Blackjack. If he does, he wins and that’s the end of the game. The dealer also has to hit on a soft 17 which gives you a slight advantage when choosing your playing strategy.
-
You can increase your winning chances by splitting your hand. In Vegas Downtown Blackjack you can split two cards of the same denomination or value, re-splitting them up to three times to make four new hands. If one of the cards is an ace you can only draw one card after that and you are forced to stand. You can double down after a split too.
