How to play Gold Series Volume 1 Blackjack: strategy and rules 

The basics of Gold Series Blackjack games are identical to all other Blackjack games. The player and the dealer both aim to reach a score of 21 with two or more playing cards and whoever gets closest without going over, or ‘bust’, wins the hand and takes the pot. Standard rules are as follows:

• Blackjack uses a standard deck of 52 cards. Face cards have a value of 10 while Aces are 1 or 11.

• Player and dealer receive two cards. One of the dealer’s is visible to the player and additional cards, up to a maximum of eleven, may be drawn. The dealer will always stand on 17.

• If the dealer gets blackjack, all your bets, including doubles, are lost. You can place an additional ‘Insurance’ bet against this if the dealer’s first card is an Ace.

• Blackjack – an Ace and another card with a score of 10 – always beats any other hand of 21. If you get blackjack, you are paid at odds of 3 to 2. All other wins are paid at 1 to 1.
